Marshall Crocker – Guitar
Marshall Crocker teaches guitar at Desert Ridge Music Academy. He studied guitar at Northern Arizona University under the guidance of Tom Sheely and Chris Finet, where he received his Bachelor’s and Master’s Certificate in Music Performance.
While living in Flagstaff, he played guitar for Flagstaff Light Opera Company, Flagstaff Musical Theater Company, and is currently the guitarist of Mesa Encore Theater. Previously he worked as a music instructor at Infusing Music Studios, Flagstaff Academy of Dance and Music, and the NAU Guitar Ensemble. He has also played guitar with the NAU Jazz Combo, NAU Big Band, Harvest Poetry night, hosted and organized the Cornish Pasty Company Jazz Jam, as well as the Southside Jazz Jam and Altitudes Jazz Jam.
Marshall has been playing guitar for 11 years and teaching professionally for 5 and has played numerous solo recitals and organized many for his private students. Some of his students have gone on to win scholarships and received free lessons with different academies around Flagstaff for showing passion and work ethic. Marshall has been able to help students improve their sight-reading, improvising, lead-sheet understanding, and simply give students more ideas to make sure their practice time is always productive and fun.
