Morgan Ambrose – Drums
Morgan began playing drums at the age of 8. Born and raised in Phoenix Arizona Morgan has studied with some of the valleys best percussion instructors. At a young age he began playing all kinds of different styles of music from rock to jazz, latin, pop, and country. In 2015 he earned his degree in music education from Grand Canyon University and is currently teaching private lessons and music in public school classroom.
In 2007 Morgan was awarded a scholarship to attend a summer music program at Berklee School of Music from the Jazz in AZ organization. In 2007 through Jazz in AZ he opened for Medeski Martin and Wood, James Moody, and Roy Hargrove at the celebrity theatre at the age of 16. In 2007 Morgan began playing in the Phoenix band Breaking Down which toured the country and had their music featured in NBC’s television show The Biggest Loser. In 2008 Morgan was a finalist with his band Breaking Down on the Fuse Television Networks Bodog Battle of The Bands. In 2010 and 2011 Morgan was a finalist in the Roland V Drums national championship drum competition.
In the fall of 2011 Morgan began his degree in music education from Grand Canyon University. After completing his degree he began teaching in the classroom and private lessons. When he is not teaching Morgan can be seen playing with the Uptown Big Band a 13 member jazz big band, The Other Side: A Tribute to The Doors, and the pop top 40 band Paradigm.
